T29 : ASQUINT
Ô poem, I wish you to get near her,
be beautiful, be fair
and care to speak to her
without disquieting her heart
nor confusing her mind.
Tell her that beings straighten up at the least shivering of her lips
just as the tree rejoices when lightning strikes.

Tell her about her sparkling eyes,
glowing embers burning up all fears
set aglow in a sheaf of gold and peace.
I miss her eyes joining mine in loving
these flowers I come upon in my solitary outings, for desire becomes so half-heated when longing alone.
