With this painting, the Crib has taken the form of a Tabernacle – a square space with a triangle on the top – the sky above the earth. At the centre of the draught-board : this represents the presence of the Source of every creature, since by Him was all done ; at the bottom, humbly, a cup receives the light to give a form to it : an interpretation of Marian World’s Fecundation in accordance with the seven stages of creation represented by the vertical stripes.
